360 Val Thorens Ultimate Guide

Why choose 360 Val Thorens over La Folie Douce?

There are a couple reasons to choose 360 Val Thorens over La Folie Douce:  bunny slope home, if there’s a famous DJ headlining, cheaper drinks and open later than La Folie Douce.  If you or one of your friends is not confident in being able to make it down from La Folie Douce, 360 is a great option because you can either ski down the bunny slope or even walk there from town.  If there’s a famous DJ headlining, it’s definitely worth skipping my favorite apres ski place La Folie Douce in favor of 360 Bar.  When I was in Val Thorens in 2020, Afrojack was headlining and we were able to score a combo ticket with the day party at 360 Bar and a night party in the same week at Malaysia Bar for only 40 Euro.  I’ll go into more detail about drink prices and times 360 Bar is open until below.

Much like La Folie Douce, the energy is great! I did see a handful of people dressed in costumes!

How to get to 360 Val Thorens

Cascades Lift  Ski down the main beginner run to get to Cascade lift which is located on your left.  You’ll have to take the beginner 2 combes run to get to 360 Bar which is located just past the Portette lift.

Les 2 Lacs Lift  Ski down the main beginner run, take Les 2 Lacs lift which should be on your right.  When you get off the lift, turn left off the lift.  Ski down the beginner green Traversee des 2 Lac run, which is pretty flat.  You’ll have to ski across a broad trail to get to 360 Val Thorens.  It is located just below the Portette Lift.

Walk One of my friends is an absolute beginner and did not have the confidence to make it down the beginner run home especially if she was drinking and surrounded by other drunk attendees, so she walked there with another friend.  It takes about 20-30 minutes depending on where you are staying in town, how fast you walk, and the conditions, lots of fresh snow or icy conditions could slow you down.  The path starts near Fahrenheit Seven Hotel.  If you’re lost, I would just pop into the hotel and ask them if they know where the path is.  You can also walk if you don’t have a ski pass for the day!

What days and times is 360 Bar happening?

360 Bar runs everyday from around 3-6pm.  You might have to get in earlier to avoid the long lines.  The only time I went was in 2020 when I went to see Afrojack, but because we prepaid there was an express lane to get in. I tried going in 2023 but the line was already too long by 3:30pm.

How much to get in?

I believe most days are free unless there is a famous headliner or if there is some type of music festival going on during that time.  When I was there in 2020, as I mentioned above tickets were 40 Euros for the combo ticket.  I would check their Facebook page for any info if there are events such as Dutch week or Closing sessions that have special tickets necessary to get in.

What type of music?

360 has resident DJs that play electronic music.  Their Facebook page will list if there are any special DJs headlining. When I was there in 2020, it was Afrojack!  In 2023 Martin Garrix performed during their closing sessions.

Cost of drinks

Back in 2020, a 750 mL bottle of wine, either white or rose was only 25 Euros (a Tripadvisor review says that a bottle was 30 Euro in 2023) at 360 Bar, compared to 40 Euro at La Folie!  Considering you don’t have to add a tip, this is so cheap!  With those prices, most attendees were just buying their own bottle and not sharing!  According to my research, beers can range from 3.50-8.50 and a double shot of spirits cost about 12 Euro.

Restroom line

Much like La Folie Douce, 360 Val Thorens charges 0.50 Euro cash to use the restroom during party hours.  It’s free during breakfast or lunch times.  I’ve never used it during the 360 party I attended, but I believe you can use the one inside the food hall for 50 cents ( I saw a sign requesting 50 cents), which is near the main entrance of the food hall.  I know that its co-ed, so good luck with that!

360 Val Thorens Souvenirs and Gear

I know there is a souvenir shop with 360 Val Thorens logo gear.  I didn’t purchase anything so I can’t remember the prices.  It’s located right next to the bar with the huge “SHOP” sign with marquee lights on it.

Getting home

One of the advantages of going to 360 Val Thorens is that it is open until 6pm.  But unfortunately, that means it can be quite dark when you go home, combined with other drunk skiers, make sure you are skiing defensively!  Luckily it is fairly flat, to the point you might have to even use your poles, you won’t be going too fast.  If you’re a snowboarder, good luck! If you get back to town after Castor & Pollux magic carpet is closed, you’ll have to hike. In 2020, I did see this “taxi”. Unsure how much it costs.
